A plumber from Bristol is celebrating after reaching the final of Screw-fix Top Tradesperson 2020. Jodie Cooper, 37, was shortlisted from more than 2,500 entries and will join nine other worthy contest-ants to go head to head to win the coveted title.

Up for grabs is the ultimate trade bundle worth £20k, comprising £10k worth of tools, £5k tech and £5k to-wards future training. The winner will also receive digital skills train-ing and a series of bespoke one-to-one mentoring from Google to help their business stay at the top of their game online.

The standard of the 10 finalists is incredibly high and Ms Cooper, who runs Ms Plumber, will aim to impress a panel of judges with her passion, commitment, and skills during the virtual final next week. The finalists will take part in a two-day event co-hosted with Google before the winner is announced at Screwfix LIVE on October 2.

Ms Cooper is thrilled to have reached the final stage. “Since changing my career to plumbing, I have never looked back,” she said. “I love all aspects of my work, especially interacting with my customers, and I am really enjoying helping to inspire others to make similar career choices. Being a finalist is a great achievement for me and I hope to be able to progress my business even further.”

Simon Jackson, customer and dig-ital director at Screwfix, said: “We recognise the importance of sup-porting our tradespeople, and now, more than ever, we want to reward them for their hard work in keeping their communities and customers safe in their homes. e have seen thousands of quality entrants this year and I look forward to meeting the finalists, as we look to crown one high calibre individual as Screwfix Top Tradesperson 2020. I’d like to congratulate Jodie for reaching the final and I wish all the finalists the best of luck.”
